Fashion bloggers are the biggest new age influencers of the fashion industry and it’s always interesting to read into their perspective on the subject and take on the dynamics of this creative world. On our real women radar for this month is Aien Jamir – a fabulous blogger with an equally fabulous outlook to fashion. We simply love her content and delved into a few questions in between the shoot. She has taken over the Zariin website and we can’t get enough.
How did you start as a fashion blogger? Tell us about your vision for Fashion & I.
I have been interested in fashion since I was little. I always enjoyed playing with my Barbies, creating new outfits for them and stitching it by myself was my favorite pass time. However, I didn’t actually consider blogging as a career until about 4 years ago. When I started blogging in the year 2009, it was purely as a platform to display my personal style and to connect with like minded people.
I wish to make Fashion & I as a platform to inspire more people and help them chase their passions.
What do you think of evolution of fashion in India and the current state of affairs of this industry. Would love to know your thoughts as a blogger!
Earlier when I used to flip through fashion magazines or read anything on Indian fashion it has largely to do with embellishments, heavy decorative items or just about anything that blings. However, over the course of time things have changed a lot, at least that’s what I’ve seen so far. Slowly and steadily people are embracing changes. Thanks to the likes of Aneeth Arora who has brought tremendous impact on Indian fashion industry.
Tell us about your personal style.
I believe in making basics receive the unforeseen style element. I try to keep it realistic and also ensure versatility in every possible way. One thing I try not to miss out on is the classic sensibility and hence you would see a huge vintage streak in my style.

What is the importance of accessories in an outfit? Are you a jewelry person?
One of the things I know for sure is that great outfits are always punctuated with great accessories. Great style is in the details.
Yes I am a jewelry person but I mostly stick with statement pieces.
Your favourite Zariin piece or collection?
There are so many, it’s difficult to just choose just one single item. But if I have to, it’d definitely be Secret Kisses Bracelet.
